Today we had to say goodbye to our sweet Duke, and there are no words that could ever truly explain how much our hearts hurt.

Duke was more than just a dog. He was family. He was our first baby. He was loyal, gentle, sweet, and loving in a way that made you feel safe just knowing he was there. He gave us years of unconditional love, companionship, and memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

He never asked for much—just a little love, a little attention, and to be by our side. And in return, he gave us his entire heart.

Duke, I hope you knew how deeply you were loved. I hope you knew that every cuddle, every look, every wag of your tail, and every moment you spent beside us meant more than you could ever understand. You were such a good boy, and you deserved nothing but love your entire life.

Letting you go was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do, but we know you are no longer hurting. Run free, sweet boy. Chase all the squirrels, roll in the grass, and know that someday we will find you again.

Thank you for loving us so unconditionally. Thank you for being our loyal boy. Thank you for being Duke.

You will forever have a piece of our hearts, and our home will never feel quite the same without you.
